Nervous about screen time this summer?
Come join me for the Screen Sanity for Summer workshop on June 4th!
The weather is warming up, school is almost out, and my kids are already on the “ice cream every day” train. As summer approaches, many parents find themselves concerned about their children's screen time. Summer brings a shift in our routines: bedtimes become more flexible, daily schedules loosen, and screens can quickly become the default activity. According to a 2021 report by Common Sense Media, tweens (ages 8–12) spend an average of nearly 5 hours per day on screens, while teens (ages 13–18) average over 8 hours daily, not including time spent on schoolwork. These numbers often go up over the summer.
The good news is that establishing a tech plan at the start of summer can set the tone for a more balanced season with less conflict. By proactively setting expectations and having open conversations, families can enjoy the benefits of technology while also making space for offline activities and quality time together.
Not quite sure how to do that?
Join me for "Screen Sanity for Summer"
To support families in creating effective tech plans for the summer, I'm hosting a free workshop titled "Screen Sanity for Summer." In this session, we'll explore frameworks for thinking about your child’s screen use and we’ll discuss practical strategies to manage screen time, foster healthy digital habits, and ensure a summer filled with both online and offline fun.
